Boomer Stacey Joins Boca del Lupo!

Boca del Lupo is an artist led organization from its founding collective through to today. Sherry J Yoon and Jay Dodge are part of that founding group and have been at the helm since 2001. While the pair remain steadfastly committed to Boca del Lupo, notions of succession and legacy have become an increasingly important conversation both for the company and for the community at large. This has influenced our approach to leadership and to programming which includes sectoral initiatives such as SLaM, Stop Asian Hate and LivePerformance360.

With that, we are very excited to announce that Boomer Stacey will be joining Boca del Lupo’s leadership team. Boomer is a mixed-blood settler/immigrant with roots extending to Cornwall (England), Sri Lanka, Nederlands and Portugal. Boomer has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University, with a focus on photography, painting and drawing. Boomer currently serves as the Executive Director of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) as well as an Artistic Advisor at the New Victory Theater in New York City. Boomer has also provided leadership for the International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) based in Philadelphia, PA, as Executive Director, as well as Artistic Director of the Milk International Children’s Festival of the Arts at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto. Boomer exhibits nomadic tendencies, is a social introvert, loves to cook, excels at gazing into campfires and lives to explore the coastlines of the world.

Boomer joins Boca del Lupo in the role of Artistic Producer and will be spearheading projects such as, Red Phone and Plays2Perform@ as well as the sector initiatives mentioned above. Working together with Co-Artistic Directors Sherry and Jay, Boomer will play a key role as we emerge from the pandemic to re-envision the world of performance, the importance that it has in all of our lives and the part that Boca del Lupo has to play within it.

“We are excited to have Boomer joining our team. His experience speaks for itself but his approach to leadership, his persistence and his creativity resonates with us at Boca del Lupo. We are so looking forward to working together and to having Boomer’s presence and expertise in our work and supporting the work of artists in our communities.” – Sherry J Yoon

Boca del Lupo’s team this year includes Matthew Rhodes, our new Associate Producer and Kellee Ngan, Development Director who along with Technology Director Carey Dodge, Publicist Helen Yagi, Graphic Designer Valerie Thai and accountant Nelson Alverez round out our team for 2023.
