The Hall
Boca del Lupo’s foundation leads back to Source Studio, a collectively run rehearsal studio, venue and party space located at 40 East Hastings and accessed through a back alley entrance in Vancouver’s notorious downtown eastside. Moving out to make way for social housing after three remarkable years, Boca del Lupo has been on the hunt for a new production facility ever since. Nine years later, we find ourselves closer than ever.

The beginnings of this partnership reach back to the early millennium when Rumble, Boca del Lupo and Neworld took the first steps in researching the viability of shared production space. Several attempts were made in the years that followed but it wasn’t until the energy and enthusiasm of The Electric Company reintroduced the idea that it gained real traction (and a much needed vowel.)
N.E.R.B. has a shared vision to increase the quality of the performing arts in Vancouver through the creation of a production facility filling the long present dearth of appropriate rehearsal and development space available to independent theatre companies.
The Ranch
In 2003, Jay Dodge and Sherry Yoon purchased 2 acres of property in Gibsons on BC’s Sunshine Coast, a short ferry ride from Vancouver.
Over the past year, the ranch has served as a rehearsal hall, accommodations for visiting collaborators, design headquarters, a board retreat location, and a post-show celebration venue. We feel that this “coastal retreat” embodies the spirit of Boca del Lupo – it is a place where all our collaborators, whether artists, board members or staff can come together equally to share ideas, work together and relax.
The Office
