where were you

On February 12th, the Board of Directors of Boca del Lupo is hosting a fundraiser in the iconic “train room” at the Roundhouse.

Join Boca del Lupo at the Roundhouse Community Centre for a special evening of theatre, sport and culture. Enjoy wines, cold beer, delicious pizza and snacks and the best view of the Opening Ceremonies outside of being in the stadium itself.

Watch the Opening Ceremonies on big screens with great sound and catch all the action through the high glass walls that will look out towards the thousands upon thousands of Olympic enthusiasts gathering to celebrate the Opening of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

  1. wendi lacusta says:

    Hi event team

I am interested in your event and fundraiser So i went to theRoundhouse tonight to get information.

They couldnt answer any questions so here I go with you
    1. The event is in the train room??? That cant be right.Look at your photo ..ther eis no place for a crowd of people.Do you mean the great hall? or do you really mean the train museum that you picture above
    2. How many tickets are you selling for the feb 12th fundraiser? How many have you sold to date?3. Where is the big screen located ? How big is it?
    4. Your add says that we will look out the glass window at the thousands of people and we will “catch the action”..which Window do you mean? What is the action about? An outdoor event would likely be located at David Lamb Park that you can’t see from the event room or the train room. What will the guests of your event be looking at?
    5. What is the timing of the event pieces? When will the big screen be showing Olympic events and when will the dancing be part of the evening be on?
    6. what is the time of the event? 9pm until?

  2. I have already sent an email to Wendy but will include the information below:

    1) The event room is in the Train Pavilion, the large glass room with the train inside. The rest of the Roundhouse Community Centre, such as the Great Hall is not accessible by the public as it’s being used as the Olympic Casa Italia (Italy House) for the month of February.

    2) We have a maximum of 150 tickets for that special event evening to ensure that we have room for everyone in the Train Pavilion as well as during the Dance Marathon performance.

    3) Along with many HD TV screens set up around the room, we will also have a large projection screen. It will be approximately 12×9 or 16×9 (to be confirmed by the Technical crew at the Roundhouse) and we expect to hang it along the brick wall. There will be seating as well as standing and lower tables as well.

    4) The area around the Roundhouse Community Centre is certainly going to be busy with people all around along with the expected viewable fireworks display as part of the Opening Ceremonies. You’re correct that the events at David Lamb Park wouldn’t be viewable from the Train Pavilion but they will also be watching the Opening Ceremony at the same time and no other event in the park is scheduled after the ceremony that evening.

    5) The way the Special Event night is working is that between 6pm-9pm we’ll be in the Train Pavilion watching the Opening Ceremonies. At 9pm we will all move into the theatre to start the Dance Marathon. The performance run time varies due to the participatory nature of the show but is on average 3-4 hours which would put the end time at approximately midnight or 1am.

We also offer group rates for groups of 8 or more.

Any questions about the event can be directed to info@bocadellupo.com or by phone at 604-684-2622.
